▶ MAKE FRIENDS, INFLUENCE PEOPLE Welcome to our CR Meme page! We intend for this meme to remain active throughout gameplay so that as new people arrive, they can hash out connections that came before their game play begins, as well as plot out new game play. Specifically, this could also be a good venue to find ship crews that are looking for new crew mates, and for prospective crew mates to find new ship crews. Please fill out the form below for your character, and then comment around to other characters! Also be sure to check back as more people filter in. |

▼ IC INFORMATION
Character name: Wedge Antilles
Canon: Star Wars
Job/Role: Mechanic/Pilot
General Reputation: A solid reputation for getting shit done: you want someone who won't crumble under pressure? A solid, well-rounded soldier? A proficient mechanic? A crazy good pilot? Wedge is your man. However, he is aloof at first. High attrition was a thing in his Matrix and now it's a thing in the Real World too, so Wedge needs time to get over his initial 'people die so I'd rather not befriend them' tendencies. Once you get through his cold-and-serious exterior, however, it's all smooth sailing.
Looking For: Other pilots, mechanics, or people he can bond over work with. This is the easiest way to get through Wedge. Other compatibilities are people who are willing to right wrongs and suffer for the common good. Strong morals and ethics, that mushy lawful/neutral/chaotic good alignment stuff.
(Oh, and whiskey. He really, really likes whiskey.)
I'm hoping to get him to commander of his own hovercraft, but for now I'll like to start him out as a pilot. I'm open to ship offers, as I'd like to avoid the Council assigning him to some random ship.
Notes: I'm running with the concept that his Matrix is a popular sci-fi series in other Matrices, so I'm rescinding my usual rule of no fourth-walling out loud: go ahead and have your character (if they have reason to) recognize Wedge as a character from Star Wars. It won't make a damn of a difference to him, though he might be amused depending on your character's reaction.
And yeah, I don't mind if your Star Wars savvy character calls him Veggies.

Seriously, the experienced general should totally be friends with the teenage girl. They can bond over disassembled hoverpads and how fast they can do an Antioch run.

Initially, Wedge can be harsh with people he thinks could be performing better, which teenage girls tend to fall under. If she's willing to get through the ice, however, I can see them becoming good friends.

Captain is here to provide -- and potentially give Wedge some reason to meet other stolid, awesomely reserved mechanically talented characters, if just through sympathy or gossip!
As for everything else that might yield compatible results, Captain could be argued as a Chaotic Good. They're more of a chaotic-chaotic, so without their ability to see potential futures as granted in their matrix, that's going to cause them a lot of trouble. If you care to have these two bump into one another while Captain is helping the temple-folk do the good thing, that might be entertaining too! :]b

So yeah, I'm up for all of this.

Pranks are definitely on the docket! Whether or not they detract from duty depends upon how one defines the term.
In any case, I'll set up a top-level some time if you want Wedge to join in either for or against whatever travesty Captain has planned!

I think she will like him, though. Getting shit done is her favorite skill. She'd be interested in learning about piloting even if she never tries her hand at it. She's kinda cold herself so they can just be ice cubes together.

Also, I love cats, hence my handle.Asking for piloting's an easy way to chip through Wedge's ice. He loves teaching others, and he's good at it too.

He's not quite as dignified as his namesake. Haha I would use some kind of cat related email if I weren't too lazy to switch!
I think she would like to learn! Anything to help her feel productive will be valued.

Wedge is too boring to ever style his nails.Great, because Wedge looks making people useful and valued: he formed a team of wash-outs no one else wanted, and made them into an elite squadron.
He bet against becoming a general. He won. Starfighter command was so pissed.(no subject)

lol hello.

Tony is mildly allergic to the leadership skills of others, as it were.

But the bickering would still happen because Wedge isn't afraid of voicing his concerns. And he's 110% leadership material.

I'm not sure if Bucky would gravitate toward Wedge right away because he's still figuring himself out and things are complicated in proximity to Steve, and also his idea of making sacrifices for the greater good is still a bit murdery right now. But once Bucky gets going as an operative I would really love to have him work with Wedge! Getting shit done is right up Bucky's alley tbh, and I feel like Wedge's moral compass might help him straighten his own out. Plus he's got this thing about following good leaders to the ends of the earth. 8C

Have you ever had morals so strong you and your entire team resign to bring a bad guy to justice?I was about to hit you up, as a matter of fact! Yes, I'm all up for this. Wedge is GREAT at bringing the best out of people.

Driver works with the ground crew at the main dock, is said to have crazy good driving skills himself (not yet translated into piloting, but soon), and is socially awkward but not totally unfriendly. He'll definitely be paying attention to the ZDG's top guns... mostly from afar, but still. He hangs around hovercrafts a lot. Perhaps they've said a few words to each other somewhere in the last six months?

Not to mention Driver's personality is a lot like Wedge's, so his presence would pretty soothing to Wedge.no subject
