General Reputation: Arthur has been out of the Matrix for four months. Having come to rely on his totem to tell dreams from reality, he began to struggle without it, often reaching for it and slowly beginning to question if the reality he was brought out into wasn't a dream. While in rehab, this behavior was noticed and he's been kept under psychiatric watch for his own safety after he finally admitted to his struggle.

He's spent the last month pretending that he finally believes this to be reality so that he would be released. Though he's still somewhat unsure if it is or not internally.

As a result of being somewhat secluded away, he doesn't have much a reputation to speak of, but people who have encountered him would likely have seen him to be tight-lipped and tense, but ultimately skilled and competent.

Looking For: I would really like to get Arthur on a crew as a trainee where his skills can come out. He's great in a support position and I would like for him to find allies and positive acquaintances, though friendship is unlikely to come quickly. People he can learn from or teach his own skills to would be great, as well as maybe setting up a situation for some sort of banter.

As far as negative CR goes, Arthur really isn't afraid to call people on their shit and he's certainly capable of making his own mistakes. I wouldn't mind finding some CR to fit there, maybe even a situation where he and someone else can have a give and take of it, like mutual respect-hate.

Notes: Arthur isn't entirely convinced that he's in reality and that will definitely color his actions.

these two are so cagey i feel like they'll probably never voluntarily discuss their doubts about reality, but would you be down with handwaving a rehab interaction maybe? like, idk, maybe they didn't even speak, maybe bucky was just within earshot one of the times arthur was pretending to believe in this reality and they shared a look. a "oh i see you are also lying out your ass about believing all this, hi5" kind of look. or the opposite, arthur could have noticed bucky doing something similar.

Oooh I would love CR like this. Someone calling Arthur on his pretending or even just seeing through parts of it sound really great to me!

Arthur would have been pretending once he'd already been under psychiatric watch for a little while, so I don't know if Bucky would be around for that until after he was released, though there will probably be signs of it now. It would be likely that maybe he saw Arthur acting erratically, with a certain disregard for safety and the things he was being taught, as if they didn't really matter to him and he felt very justified in that. It might have even been made apparent that he just didn't think any of it was real. I think those are things that someone with Bucky's attention to detail could have picked up on if they were in rehab together for sure.

General Reputation: This really depends on how well you know her, whether you think she's actually helpful, and what side of the law you happen to be on. She runs a free clinic, called the Warren Clinic, out of a few reclaimed apartments on the lowest level of the residential district of Zion; it runs partially on donations and partially on 'borrowed' things she can manage to snatch. In general, she's got very sticky fingers, as well as a low opinion of the Zion council and a strong belief in humanity's ability to collectively govern itself.

She is also decently acquainted with Irkalla and considers it her responsibility to keep tabs on the black market there and in Zion, less to actually police it and more for gossip and goods. She's always got a sharp ear for juicy details and is very good at filing information away to use later, if the opportunity arises.

In general, despite her less savory qualities, she goes out of her way to do good when she can; there's a reason most of her pilfered objects don't remain in her possession for long. She doesn't steal anything she can recognize as essential to its owners, and in general will not touch medical supplies if they've already been purchased(she won't rob a hospital or a private first aid kit). This does mean that she occasionally has to use makeshift things, but she's good at improvising.

Looking For: Any CR. All CR! I'd especially like some connections to both medically-oriented characters and shady types, especially since she's been unplugged for two years, so she'd have cultivated contacts there. Previous patients of hers would be cool too!

Also, I'd like to ask captains if it would be okay, sometimes, to have her sneak on board their ships, and thus participate in plots that need them. This wouldn't be all the time, and of course I'd ask first, but I wanted to mention it. She does stow away semi-regularly(usually with npcs to make it simpler), so if you've caught her on board a few times before that could be fun. c:

Regarding the 'prospective dj' bit: Lily is working on making a (mod-approved) radio station! Many of her setbacks on this have been with regards to infrastructure, but she'll want to go into the Matrix often to record songs from different worlds(meaning, anything [that she likes] i can get a youtube link for). CR in that general direction would be awesome too.

Notes: Lily will be pretty closed about potentially dangerous shenanigans; she trusts herself to get through pretty much anything unscathed, but doesn't like people to worry about/try and stop her. I would REALLY like to do this modplot, but it requires several people and would need some planning.

General Reputation: Peculiar, bit of a recluse; he's only been here a few months as of this point so he hasn't had enough time to really establish a reputation. He's known by at least a few people for being pretty clever with machines, able to learn about and repair them even with relatively limited access to resources. Otherwise he doesn't offer much information about himself even when asked, preferring generally not to get involved -- his utter lack of a reputation stems from this as much as anything else. If a character encounters anyone who knows him or knows of him, he'll probably be spoken of as being a bit shifty but an accomplished mechanic.

Looking For: Aaaaanything. I'm looking to have him sort of pulled in to being more engaged with life in Zion and in the Defence Grid, etc. and the best way to accomplish that really is just to have people engage with him. For all that he tries to remain aloof, and he really does try very hard, he's not very good at actually managing it. Positive CR, negative CR; I want it all.

Notes: Well, first, he's far from verbose. Expect a high prose-to-dialogue ratio. Secondly, he's a bit off-kilter. Bit twitchy, bit paranoid, even when he's not actively reacting to a hallucinatory vision... but he does that too. Also, despite not being widely-known, he's always available if your character needs something fixed, and also has very basic field medical knowledge, in case that ever becomes applicable. Can drive like an absolute motherfucker. Will eat just about anything. Clearly an asset to any ship that might be in the market.

No but really, I would very much like to mash these two together... somehow. Someday. If you are interested in two reclusive weirdos being forced to cooperate and/or butt heads. Perhaps both.

Oh god yes. Someone here who makes some sort of sense, how refreshing. I've got a thoroughly boring bit of writing I might fling at the logs comm as an open post, which would at least provide them an opportunity to get acquainted. Otherwise I'd be delighted to have them bump into one another in some context or another, particularly something that plays to their shared, uh, strengths.

Rocket is also a mechanic and has not been recently unplugged by a long shot but is pretty new to the Zion neighborhood (it's a long story). also he can deal with big guys with a limited vocabulary even if Max is not as big as he's used to and also not a tree

General Reputation: Katniss was extracted about four years ago and has adjusted to life in the Real. After some time recovering from her extraction along with some pretty extensive mental therapy, she picked up a job working for a mechanic and has since learned quite a bit. She's delving into hovercraft repair/maintenance now, but can fix all kinds of things.

Looking For: Friends she can trust/count on. Someone to get her to sign up to join a crew. Someone who might be able to convince her to pick up being an operative on top of her mechanic duties. She'd be an asset in the Matrix with her shooting capabilities, but she's hesitant to sign up for potential violence. Negative CR also works.

Notes: Katniss has PTSD, though she'd made strides in her recovery since her extraction. She can't shake her fear of roses, though fortunately they're probably pretty damn sparse now.

Kitty def. def. def. hasn't gone through anything remotely approaching what Katniss has - her government is more of the keep-the-poor-downtrodden-while-we-live-decadently sort than of the make-little-kids-murder-one-another sort - so she'll understand generally what Katniss has gone through while being less uh...broken...Which is probably good! I feel like Katniss needs some people in her life who don't wake up every night with soul-destroying nightmares.

Anyway though it should be appealingly weird CR because Kitty is keeping her past activities very quiet for the moment, so she'll probably just seem to be some weird skinny upbeat kid who's bizarrely obsessed with Katniss' life story. At least she works in a nice restaurant so she can offer decent food in trade for basically the Janis Ian to Katniss' Regina George

She probably won't talk about home a whole lot unless pressed about it repeatedly and after they're pretty close. Decent food is definitely one of the ways to her heart, though. She appreciates a good meal.
