if metzger detects any reluctance to jack in he will assess situationally whether to pull him out of the chair or ram the needle in before he can get cold feet -- not to be mean but to try to work out whatever kinks asap before it gets someone hurt etc. bucky is one he might tell he's jacking into the matrix only to put him into an uncomfortable simulation and so on.

if pussy-footing were to continue long term he'd cut him as a liability for someone else to risk their crew on but that's a thing that happens all the time and he'd be damn sure to instill enough basics for bucky to be very functional first

rad \m/ i'm anticipating bucky will swing back the other direction toward aggressive attempts at desensitization, once he gets over the hurtle of jacking in the first time, but a few pushes wouldn't go amiss & we can see how things pan out.
