Job/Role: Hovercraft repairman.

General Reputation:
He's quickly becoming the man to grab if your hovercraft has sustained heavy damage, because although he's still learning the more complicated repairs, he's both diligent and incredibly hard working. Charles doesn't do rest breaks and he doesn't do sloppy jobs.

Personality-wise, he likes conversation but gets overwhelmed by too many people. He's got some odd habits left over from before he was extracted, like always having his pockets stuffed with vital supplies in case there's a disaster and having trouble with direct eye contact.

He came back just over a month ago from his first mission, and now there's some new rumours:
1. He's a miserable bastard to be cooped up with for any length of time
2. He's got an anomaly that makes him difficult for his Operators to track, but makes him and anyone near him nigh impossible for hostile programs to locate.
3. He brought a new friend back who darts about him constantly and is insane.

Looking For: I'd like for people with more experience to help teach him engineering, crews to try and (for now) fail to recruit him for his anomaly, and people for him to try to bond with. He's desperately lonely for sane human company.

ENGINEERS ASSEMBLE! I've got a girl who grew up around hovercrafts and knows them inside and out to catch him up on Real technology, with her own obsessive thoroughness.

Yessss! He's learnt the hard way that having all the manuals uploaded into his head is absolutely no substitute for actual learning by hard work. How would you feel about them having worked together before? He'd definitely gravitate towards someone who knew their way around.

She's relatively fresh to Zion as well, so it would be reasonable for them to have gotten partnered on a build or repair task -- her to see how she can do with someone who has his reputation, him to get the benefit of someone with real experience.

If she comes across as not the sort to gossip, he'd have to ask her about the problem he was having on his one and only mission as ship mechanic. It's embarrassing for him to admit, but he wasn't ready for the job and couldn't solve this whining noise from on of the hoverpads.

She's not a gossip -- I'm pretty sure 'snitches get stitches' is in Antioch's official charter. But she IS the kind of colossal nerd who can identify problems by noises a lot of the time.

She can be his turbonerd bff if she can show him how to fix that whine. He's haunted by the sound by now.

So, if Snippy's at all interested in swapping war stories with a fellow apocalypse engineer, Isaac's as good a man for the job as any. I'd say there's pretty good odds they've bumped into each other at least once since Isaac spends basically all of his time working on hovercrafts or other mechanical things.

Oh yes, he'd quite enjoy hanging about with someone else who didn't spend time enjoying such things as blue skies and a relaxing 9-5. It sounds like they're both the sort to burn the midnight oil!

His war story is pathetically short, as in "by the time I drove back to the city, it was all over", but he'll listen with interest and share survival stories.

How'd you feel about their interaction beginning with Snippy flagging him over one night to come and lend a hand holding up a beam that he can't quite balance by himself?

Sounds like a good time to me! Dray brought up Captain and Snippy's test drive thread as having happened in full view of most of the hoverbarge garage if you're interested in Isaac already being passingly familiar with him as "That guy with the loud friend". I'm sure the first impressions will be great either way.

If that's Isaac's first impression of him, his second impression is going to be "does this guy ever smile?" because Charles is going to be grim-faced about all the teasing he'll be getting.

How do you feel about them hanging out in their bunker wearing goggles together because Captain demanded it and Snippy secretly feels more comfortable with the idea than he's willing to admit?

Or attempting to get Captain distracted by teaching them some quilting? (WHAT COULD GO WRONG?)

Or just anything that involves unexpected downtime that isn't getting punched in the face? XD

Yessssssss.

Charles is going to start collecting scraps of material just so he can reteach himself how to quilt, since Muscle Memory is a thing that needs to be developed and warmth is the most precious sensation of all. Captain, he fully expects something either magnificent or horrific, but he hopes your creative side will shine.

Perfect! This is going to be an excellent gap-filler between plot-things. I can't wait. ;w;

The Nidhoggr was pretty thoroughly mangled inside and out about a year ago so depending on how long he's been out and whether or not you're interested in having done work on it, Snippy may have bumped shoulders with Metzger checking in on progress.

He's been out about six months, so perhaps helping out with the followup maintenance could have been one of his early jobs, when he was still trailing after the people who actually knew what they were doing and was there to simply hammer what he was told to hammer.

If that's the case, he definitely would have gotten wind of Metzger's reputation as he asked about what the hell happened to get a ship in his state. Whatever the answer is may have been all the confirmation he needed that staying dockisde is the only sensible way to live.
