His real strength right now is in the Matrix, he's absolute crap with anything technological. But it's always good to know where to find an operative for a dangerous mission, right?

Definitely. He's a favor-for-a-favor kind of guy also, so lending out operatives and bargaining to borrow them for dangerous missions is for sure on his agenda. He also likes to know where sympathetic assets are and what they're up to, so he might be sort've keeping an eye waiting for an opportunity to test him out.
