I suspect that Captain (this character, not a captain of a ship) and Cage would probably do little more than glance off one another. Cage seems opaque by methods of blending in, while Captain is opaque by strictly the opposite! If yours ever wants a tough nut to crack, Captain is it, though I think that until I am able to move them along from out of touch and prankstery to a little more grounded, it might be a wait.
On the other hand, Captain is adept at observation as well, even if they are terrible at letting on. If you need anybody to cry wolf, as it were, who better than the bleating tones of an apparent idiot? If Cage's mysterious promotion has anything to do with some amoral happenings on his part and you want that to slip, Captain's red-flag-twirling would probably do nothing but reinforce Cage's authority. In any case, I suspect you're probably not going that direction with your character, but just wanted to put that out there if you were!
