They can both preen together and gossip. Captain will find some way to make a stereotypical hair-salon head-dome dryer just so that they can have the ridiculous space in which to gossip. They'll probably go to the effort of drying mash into paper to write some kind of newspaper rag to pretend to flip through whilst gossiping.
