Twelve weeks doesn't seem that short a time! At least she's had the basic month of physical rehab and then a couple more to settle in. If nothing else, she could look at Captain and gauge just how far she's come -- this particular character hasn't caught up with this whole new 'fitting in' rage that seems to be going around, and they don't mind one bit!
If you'd like someone for her to practice her lying upon, Captain can be a sitting duck; they are quite proficient liars in their own right, and are quite observant, but they fall prone to wanting to believe in anything that sounds juicy enough to be too good to be true. Eventually Captain will wish to free the rest of their minions (which is about as close to family as they have)... but that will probably be later. Cap's also extremely good at bluffing their way into positions of authority. If Emily wants to use them for that purpose I'm happy to have Captain steamroll a way through any adversities for her!
