If Simon's confident an established asset knows what they're doing and knows how to keep their mouth shut he's probably a pretty decent boss -- more flexible than most about creative use of downtime, singing chumbawumba, etc. participation in criminal activity isn't required, he'd just have to be willing to turn a blind eye, probably with the sense that he might wind up having an accident if he doesn't.
