Considering that the alternative is bundles of scarves and knitted toques, the Captain would probably be happy with any experimental felting results that Crowley might strive for! I also get this feeling that Captain might be feeling the strain of exposing their beautiful face to the unwitting public (in their canon it can cause alien bureaucrats to swoon and explode) so if Crowley's got any access to, say, welder's goggles, Captain might trade for some of the juicy gossip that circulates down in the temples where people feel the need to confess.
